 ISRO DEVELOPS SOLAR CALCULATOR APP

      At Glasgow during COP26 summit 2021Prime Minister of India announced ISRO , one of the most successfull space agency of India develops Solar calculator app  for measuring the potential of solar energy in particular area. This app will launch for all countries and it's free accessable. Isro provide satellite data for all users.


   This app develop by Space Application Center (SAC) . It is very usefull tool for installing solar Panel for tapping solar energy. ISRO use three heavy satellite 1. Kalpana 1 2. INSAT-3D and INSAT-3DR. Isro use satellite for detect location and in this app satellite image also shown of particular location. ISRO's app really help  for creating bridge among countries.

APP FEATURES: 

  • The App provides solar energy potential (in kWh/m2) at any given location
  • The required location can be keyed in or can be obtained through GPS
  • It gives monthly and yearly solar potential processed using Indian Geostationary Satellite data (Kalpana-1, INSAT-3D and INSAT-3DR). It also offers monthly minimum and maximum temperature to calculate realistic solar potential
  • Location is displayed on image with satellite data in the background
  • It also provides azimuth and elevation angles, and day length over different time periods in a year.
  • Obstruction of sunlight due to terrain is also calculated using Digital Elevation Model (DEM)
  • It also suggests optimum tilt angle for solar PV installation
  • This App needs internet connection to calculate the results
  • Complete report can be saved as a PDF file


This is revolutionary step by ISRO and Indian government. Even One sun, one world, one grid project is accepted by all countries except pakistan and china which is given by India. For this app you know which area is so perfect for installing solar pv panels. Official statement of launch date of this app not announced yet.
